Sometimes we’d get a pool towel mixed in (because why not? No one’s using the nasty pool!) It was a hodgepodge many times. We would ask for more but it always seemed to be the excuse of “we are washing those” “we don’t have enough” “I only have enough towels for ppl in this other room because they are a ‘stayover’” (I was a stayover too). We didn’t have enough towels (including washcloths and hand towels) to start. It seemed it was pretty hard to get them. Supplies: I almost went down the street to Target to buy some washcloths. Way to go but how about a protocol for prevention? Bathroom door locked but unlocked by wiggling. It’s hard to find someone sometimes to do this. And when you’re running low you got to find someone and tell them to get you more. Who needs a holder? Ours was broken before we arrived.

(Side note: why is it so hard to get a HIE with a working, decent pool? Out of many we have used, I can remember 1 that was not being fixed or dilapidated.) Stuff was out there even on day 3 of stay. Around pool area were gas cans out in the open, and what appeared to be random parts of broken luggage carts. Stuff on the floor of the pool (peeling? Dirty?) ladder out was clearly needing fixed/replaced. My son tried it for 5minutes and that was enough. Bad stuff: We stayed 4 nights so know this was not just a “had a bad day,” but consistent things we dealt with. Water pressure is tremendous if you are into that. Dove soaps-nice! -unless you need replenishment. This is really what is saving this particular place in my opinion. Good stuff: Breakfast was generally good and is a big perk to staying at HIE. I’ll be fair it’s not all bad, but here’s my summary up front: Don’t expect typical Holiday Inn Express experience if you choose to stay here, in the cleanliness or the service, you’ll get neither. Will never come back here until I know the whole staff including the man in the back office take some customer service basic training. Will definitely give this hotel a lot of social media exposure in a negative way. I stayed here for a week and the week before their sister hotel across the lot (owned by the same people) and saw and experienced many moments that made me think to myself “thats not right”. I feel a little compassion or offering me $.50 to put my clothes in the dryer one more time would go a long way. To my surprise all he said was “okay” and walked away. Talked with the front staff and told him. I put them into the dryer and as course stall came out dripping. I do my laundry and the washer does not drain fully or spin fast enough because the clothes came out soaking wet. I am from Canada and I do not carry any cash on me, wanted to do laundry and the staff could not charge a $1 to my room so I could do my dirty laundry, so I asked one of my American friends staying at the same hotel if they could lend me $1. Then I find out that the pool is being cleaned, I think great at least they are cleaning something but then the front staff tells me it has been closed for cleaning for the last three weeks and has no idea when it will be done. I totally disagree because all I stay in is Hiltons. I informed the front desk and they just said that all their rooms are cleaned to the Hilton standards. Mostly around and on light switches and bathroom counter. Go to my room and see fingerprints all over the room. What… every other hotel I go to does this! But okay thanks. So now let’s get into some of the nitty gritty, upon arriving, as a Diamond Member the app says I get water and a snack, neither were given and the front staff says this hotel does not do this. After all without us you would not be here. This hotel could definitely pay more attention to customer service and serving their customers. Seamed to be invested in themselves rather than making their clients stay amazing. The hotel staff was not the friendliest, not rude but not upbeat or happy.
